More range with new N66U firmware?

With the new FW update today for the N66U I wonder with the new TX power adjustment if the range has been increased. I soon should find out.

Running for about an hour and I haven't noticed any increase or decrease.

What version were you running before the upgrade ? Just wondering if the new Asus release has improved the signal like Merlins EM build did.

Under further testing it seems the 5 GHz band is about -10 DBM lower than with 5517 and TX power is set to 100%. May be going back to 5517 soon to further test.

Yes we know. But even with 5517 on 80mW the range was a little better than 1071 maxed out.

I have a brand new RT-N66U and to mee it looks like the "Tx power adjustment" doesn't work at all (at least not at 2.5 GHz). I have tried 1, 10, 25, 50 and 100% and all my clients (and NetTumbler) all report exacly same signal strength. The router also it just as hot on 1% as on 100%

Same here so I leave it at 100. I get decent coverage all over my entire 2600 square foot home. Including backyard and side pool area.
