My Cloud Mirror connection to a AC87R

New Around Here
I want to hook up a WD My Cloud Mirror to my Asus AC87R router. The My Cloud Mirror will be used for backup and/or file sharing. With this new router I'm not sure of the correct/best way to connect the My Cloud to the router. Should I connect it via gigabit ethernet or USB 3 or does it even matter? I want all network users to have access to the data on the My Cloud and be able to backup their devices to it. I'm a little behind the curve on this new technology. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions would really be helpful. Thanks

Ethernet. You want it to have an IP so computers and devices on your network can reach it.

That said, you may want to return the Mirror. I got some MyBook Live Duo 4TB's when they were on clearance at Staples ($40) and the performance and features were so bad that I ended up cannibalizing the drives and dumping the enclosures. The Mirror has a bit more RAM, a mildly faster processor, and a more up to date baked-in DLNA server. But other than that, it's still underpowered and feature-sparse compared to competing products (particularly QNAP and Synology boxes, but even Buffalo / Seagate / Netgear are making better NAS's).

If all you're looking for is RAID-1 backup of your files, the Mirror will do the job. Anything more, move up market.
