This is so frustrating and is something new, at least to me. I have named many of the clients that use my network (through my RT-N66U). So, when I log in to the web interface I can see who is using the network without having to look up MAC addresses.
I am using 380.57. Now, when I try to rename a client, it just kicks me out to the log in page. When I log back into the web interface, the client name hasn't been changed. I have tried changing the name on the client list on the right and back clicking "view list". The same result. I am trying to change my son's "Samsung" to his name, but I get kicked to the login page every time. I tried reducing the auto log out to "0" disabled, but no change. I tried putting the stock firmware on and it does the same thing. The other clients have been named in prior releases and I never had this problem.
