NAS File Audit/Monitoring

New Around Here
Hello,

Basically what I need is a NAS appliance that has that ability to monitor or audit file activity and/or access. For example, I have shares that can be accessed by Windows, Macs and some unix based computers. When ever a user creates files/folders edits, deletes etc it will record this activity. This activity or log can be viewed in a report. It would show user, IP Address, file, datetime and whether it was a create, update, read, write etc.

The only NAS I am able to find thus far is NetApp using Data ONTAP.

This type of auditing is required by HIPAA regulations.

Is there any other NAS appliances out there that can do this?

I am currently using a Thecus IU4600 and it doesn't do this.

There is software, but it mostly for Workstation. I want is at the server level.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
