NAS with Client Backup?

rchapoteau

New Around Here
I know that the Seagate Black Armor has NAS client backup, but are there any others that have this feature?

The Seagate isn't bad, but it doesn't look like the software supports snapshot/historical backups which is what I'm looking for.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Most NASes come bundled with client backup software. But there are many other options available, both free and paid, that have been discussed in other threads.

I tried doing a search for client backup on the forum but didn't really come up with much. There were a few threads that didn't really discuss the topic much unfortunately.

Every NAS I've looked at that has client backup generally doesn't seem to do snapshot/historical backups where I can go back and select a date that I would like to restore from similar to apple's time machine.

Does any NAS come with software that performs a similar feature? I'm still looking but can't seem to find anything. Thank you.

I just finished a long response to this but it somehow wasn't accepted so :(
So I am simply going to say...

I use restrospect, it came with my readynas nv+ - nice program - and can do snapshots and restore individual files.

when I built a new windows 7 64 bit pc - i bought the upgrade for $15 and now have 7 client licenses of which I only use one.

I use time machine for the only macbook on my home network
