Hello,
I'm looking for NAS with proper archive attribute control.
The situation is...
I'm going to do routine backup, so it only backup files with archive attribut active, and reset this flag when the backup is done.
I'm going to use winrar/other which will reset the file 'A' attribute after backup.
So the next backup will only backup the newer files.
The are FolderA, which userA and userB have full access to the folder.
UserA create FileA, so the 'A' attribute of the file will active by default.
UserB cannot reset the 'A' attribute of FileA.
Only userA which create the file can reset the 'A' attribut.
Currenty I'm using WD White bar, Buffalo LinkStation Duo, Buffalo LinkStation 1 drive, and Thecus Evo Duo drive.
None of them support those attribute changing.
I've been using these Nases for about 2-3 years, so my firmware could be obsolete.
Newer firmware for those NAS can solve that attribute problem?
Anyone pls recommend me NAS which can solve this problem?
I prefer cheap NAS as above.
Anyone kindly do the test for me?
We can change the 'A' attribute easily via windows explorer, properties.
Just change the attribute, click okay, and get back to see if it is really changed.
I heard Synology 4xx can solve this problem.
Synology 2xx drive also solve this problem?
Anyone help me to test it?
Thanks.
