Need Help, experiencing slow throughput between wired clients

I have two machines wired, one directly to the N66U and antoher through a trendnet switch, but are connected to 1 Gbps full and have jumbo frames enabled, I verified that they can ping each other with jumbo frames. I am finding that file transfers between the two systems via netowrk shares is extremely slow, been wating 45 mins for a 500m file. In my old setup both machines were on the trendnet switch and it was super fast. The trend net is directly connected to the Asus.

any ideas?

EDIT: so I tried plugging both machines into the N66 directly and the throughput was much better. Not sure why it would slow down going from the N66 to the trendnet switch , any ideas?

Make sure you don't have any 10/100 mb connected to your router/switch.
Even turned off computer goes to 10 mb and affect speed, that would be the fasted speed then.
But you can control that in your client set up.

Thanks for the tip, I never thought about that being the cause, I will have to test and confirm this today.. In the client do you mean on the windows side? disabling power management on the ethernet adapter?

Yes, clientside is windows, laptop and nas.
I meant: "WOL & Shutdown Link Speed" only affect when computer is OFF.

Also, Jumbo Frame only works with gigabit networks. If you have a 10/100 Mbits switch on your network then it will cause major issues.

tried it again today problem dissapeared. i dont have any 10/100 switches in my network. also noticed that my windows machines had ipv6 addresses, i disabled ipv6 on the hosts as well. not sure of that has anything to do with it
