its an opt in program from what i can gather but still its worth knowing what it is and why b4 blindly clicking next next next and then complaining

Did anybody install this update and suffer from near constant awful latency? Installed this and doing a ping graph get spikes consistantly up to 1000ms. I rolled back to the latest 1.7 firmware and the spikes stopped. Anybody else?
