Newbie Questions here for r7000 install

Newbie here:
Is there some guide on how to flash XVRT to a R7000?
Is XVRT "better" than Open-Wrt, does it support 5GhZ Wifi?
Does XVRT support beamforming (not that that i care much *g*)

OK, done. As i am on Tomato Shibby right now, do i need to revert back to stock fw first on r7000 or whats the take here? Or can i just flash XWRT over Tomato? I am afraid of bricking the router.

I'm pretty sure you would want to load the stock Netgear firmware first then follow the upgrade procedures from that forum link.
