No WAN with Bell 4000 passthrough

New Around Here
I have my network setup with ASUS AiMesh, and I don’t want to loose it.

Bell Fibe as a ISP. Upgrade to 4000Giga. Before : no Bell route at all. Just the ONT box and 5e to n’y ASUS RT-AC3100. No need for FibeTV to run (I stream straight from appleTV).

With new setup : fibe to 4000, wifi off, dhcp off, random loggin for PPPoe, ethernet from LAN1 to my ASUS WAN, ISP PPPoe credential in ASUS, IPTV 35.

I’m never getting an IP or internet connection : (

Tried rebooting Many Times. Tried
Cloning Mac adress on ASUS.

Nothing works ???

What Am I doing wrong ???

Thx

I am assuming your are trying for a pppoe pass through connection?

For me, the only way I could get this to work was to clone the MAC address in the ppppoe setup section. I used the MAC address that auto populated in the address field when you clicked "clone MAC address". Have had no issues since.

after a few try, I realize that my hardware is getting pretty old…. I’m not getting the speed I should. Decided to go with Bell4000 as main router and switch my ASUS as access points. I loose AiMesh but get real gigabytes speed. I guess there’s no way to put aimesh on access point to buy since they don’t handle the DHCP ?

You need a master ASUS node (router) to do that. i would just use the ISP wireless router and the asus as APs just like you have done. You could use your ASUS in router mode in double NAT behind the ISP router and turning off the wireless radios in one or the other. But you are likely to get only 2-300 Mb/s bandwidth with such an old router.
Not sure you will be able to get 4 GB/s on any wireless device or PC that is not equipped with a 10 Gb/s port and CPU that is fast enough.

Sorry : reset + ok for bridge on. Reset + arrow for bridge off
I have read that Bell removed that feature for firmware version 2.13. just case you find it missing one day. I'm told that Bell will only put the Gigahub into bridge mode now for business customers.
