Observed that if the nvram variable preauth command is executed, its not working.
What is the purpose nvram set preauth command?

Are you going to start a thread for every nvram variable?

The only mention I can find related to that is for RADIUS (WPA enterprise) authentication. The x_Setting could have something to do with that too since 802.1X is an authentication method related to WPA enterprise.

If you want to know what every variable does, you'll need to download the source code off github or wherever and go through it and see what calls those variables.
