Observation on Wireguard on BE86u

Hi All, I have tried the Wireguard on the BE86u and can achieve about 850 Mbps over a hard-wired connection on a 1Gbps line which is very good in my opinion. However, whenever I reboot the router, and the wireguard vpn connects, the speed is consistently limited to about 20-30 Mbps. I have to manually go into the VPN settings and disconnect and reconnect to get back the 800+ speeds. No matter how often I reconnect post-reboot, the speeds are consistently high. I believe it has something to do with the reboot of the router. Has anyone else noticed this?
I'm using Merlin RT-BE86U_3006_102.3_0.zip
