[Official/Bug] AC-3100 Firmware 3.0.0.4.380_1354

Well It was reported in the first firmware release, and I wanted to test with this firmware release when I had a chance. Which I did just recently, and the problem is, Traditional QoS doesn't work on this router. I'm fully aware Adaptive QoS is there to use if needed, but if Traditional QoS is an option to use, it should work. The current ongoing issue with it, is after you give any device a priority, and apply it.

You can go run a speedtest after applying, and oddly the download speed's will cap out at around 16-17mbps, upload speed's are normal. When I tested it, I had the download bandwidth set at 150mbps, and upload bandwidth set at 20mbps. Which is the speed's my ISP provide me. So it would be nice, if this problem with Traditional QoS is looked into, and either fixed in a upcoming firmware, or remove the option to use this version of QoS.

The idea with QoS is not to set what ISP speeds you are provided with. Rather, input a much lower amount (about 60 to 80% of the ISP speeds) for it to work.

If it still doesn't work after you have set it up properly, you can always choose to ignore it too. :)

I know how to setup QoS, either way though, this part of QoS isn't working with this newer router. Making every device max out at only 16-17mbps on the download, as soon as you give any device priority is not right. Upload is unaffected, and reflects the number inputted correctly. I have tried many things, including even powering the router on, and off, to see if something is hung up, and will correct itself. None of it works, main reason I made this thread. The current status of using Traditional QoS is broken on at least the AC3100, likely the same on the AC88U, as they're same router minus the extra ports, and the coloring on the router's antennas.

If you're setting the up/down limits to what your ISP is providing, you are not setting QoS up properly.

Trust me I know what I'm doing, and them numbers are not the exact numbers the isp has the modem provisioned for. Every time my isp does speed upgrade's, I do extensive testing regarding what my real limit's are. Not just a simple short burst speedtest, that include fluff like "powerboost" something a lot of cable isp's use, to give customers a short burst of higher bandwidth at the beginning of a download, or upload.

As long as you know about this, I'll trust your judgement then. :)
