OpenVPN - can't connect to remote port 80

I discovered the problem is related to tunnel MTU. I switched home Internet providers to a cellular based service and it looks like for a UDP OpenVPN tunnel to be fully functional the MTU needs to be 1452. Just setting it on the client side seems to be adequate.
