OpenVPN cert longer than 3499 characters - MerlinWRT 380.63_2

New Around Here
My VPN provided has recently renewed his CA keys. Unfortunately, I can no longer use it with MerlinWRT as I am unable to paste the whole cert in the required field. When I tried to simply upload the ovpn config file the router kicked me to the logon prompt on hitting the upload button. After this failed upload I can no longer select other openvpn clients, each attempt drops me to http://192.168.1.1/apply.cgi the side cannot be reached page. If I refresh, it loads the router logon screen.

I would rather not factory reset as I have quite a lot of customizations done. Does anyone have any ideas? Can the open vpn config file be simply copied to the router filesystem somewhere? Thanks a lot in advance,

Make sure you're only pasting the begin/end block and not the certificate info. 3499 bytes is enough for a 4096-bit certificate. If your VPN provider uses something even higher than this, then I wouldn't recommend running that on a low-powered router but use a dedicated PC instead.

4096 is already overkill, as 2048-bit is very, very secure. Can't imagine why anyone knowing what he's doing would want 8192-bit.
