OpenVpn Issues ?

On my router I setup openvpn as both (for client will Us VPN to access) and exported the configs for my phone when out and about. I run AdGuard and use adblock.turtlecute.org to test, Inside my home I get 99% on that site.

But when I am connected to openvpn on my phone outside my home and go to the same site I get 52%

I thought that when selecting both it used my home servers DNS (adguard) but this looks as if it is not.
