hey there, i setup a quick VPN server on an asus router before traveling. Unfortunately, didnt have time to get things setup proper and on non-common subnets, though it was working from most places like my work or mobile.
Now i'm traveling os with my macbook for a little bit and i keep getting stuck with 192.168.1.x networks, i can connect to the vpn fine, but nothing works from there.
my vpn server is setup to push lan clients etc. and use the vpn client subnet 192.168.5.0/24
when my mac connects it gets setup with utun1 on 192.168.5.2
but my wifi locally here for example is 192.168.1.18
i only really need to access 192.168.1.25 & 192.168.1.17 behind my remote vpn network
are there any mac osx route settings i can use to make these ip's work and route through the vpn to get to them? as a quick-fix?
i've tried adding static routes in openvpn client config eg.
route 192.168.1.25 255.255.255.0
route 192.168.1.18 255.255.255.0
but no luck. i think the DNS locally going through the router on 192.168.1.1 and it being the same remotely is confusing things and everything i've tried keeps failing.
