OpenWRT Firmware for NETGEAR D7800 Official Release

Not aware of any specific issues on the BT network as the modem driver is likely to be based on the original GPL source code however...

Hi,
There is an important bit missing from the readme file ... If you are using Btinfinity in the Uk then you need to add under Network - Interfaces - WAN - Phisical Settings - Custom Interface, and set it to "ptm0.101" . This is necessary to make the modem work on the Btinfinity network.

I have had problems with the wifi, the software comes with a caveat that pressing save and apply on the wifi pages will crash the router, this is true. But its also true that the router can crash as it sets up the wifi during the boot process. So overall OpenWRT has great potential with this router but I would say we are not there yet. Any help on this from anyone else using this release on a D7800 ?

The original post and FW is over a year old, I don't think many are using it.

Thank you Bodean, I think you are probably right.

Well more fool me I suppose. I brought this router because I thought it was a cool new router with BT compatability that could run open source siftware. The stock software turned out to be rubish and now it seems poor support for OpenWRT. I am on the verge of flasdhing back to netgear firmware.

:-(
