Origin Wireless has announced that its TRM (Time Reversal Machine) now supports Qualcomm's Wi-Fi Mesh Platform.

TRM uses two Wi-Fi devices that send and receive echoed multipath pulses within an interior space, like an office or home. The pulses are used to detect movement/location within one to two centimeters, according to the company.

Possible applications listed include indoor positioning/tracking, home/office security and monitoring, and detecting/monitoring vital signs - like breathing. This could eliminate the need to use other devices to track breathing rates.

For more information on Origin Wireless’ TRM, check out the company’s site. There’s also a video on the homepage that shows TRM’s different applications.
