New Around Here
I currently use static routes and a bunch of load balancing rules to get my way around. I tried to understand OSPF and how I can implement in my LAN but I only feel more confused after reading the wikis available online. Would you please tell me where and how to start? I have a few OSPF capable devices, should I take the non capable ones also into account? thanks a lot.

Typical home/SOHO/SMB network has ONE router.

OSPF et al apply to a network with lots of route alternatives, e.g., mobile routers, route diversity, etc. at the WAN scale.

A small network with several ethernet switches (not routers) would not use OSPF.
