If i apply Strict the vpn leaks, using expressvpn asus merlin rt-ac86u.
I do have a static ip which i use for port forwarding that's now turned off.
Is there something i'm doing wrong ?

Please read the Policy based routing section on the Wiki first. There is a section about DNS behavior with OpenVPN Client. If you still have questions, let me know.

Thanks i will read it, i also noticed this message in the router.
warning: the router's ip address is within your pool, is that something i should be concern about ?

Did you resolve the DNS leak issue? From the posts on the forum, it appears the Express requires use of their DNS for bypassing sites that block VPNs. If you have this requirement, then setting "Accept DNS Configuration=Exclusive" will "exclusively" use the DNS of the VPN provider.

You can create custom DNS rules by Device MAC address. You can configure some devices to use VPN DNS and other DNS servcies.

I just put vpn back into the router, no leaks. Going to try a policy rule that where the leaks come in.
If it leaks then i go from there
