If you have a non-HND router you have to use robocfg through the CLI (SSH). On HND routers it uses the ethctl command. If you want it to survive a reboot, you'll need to add it to a services-start script.

I don't know if any of the newer models support it via the GUI. There is rumor of some Broadcom utility that works with some models, not sure about that though.

If you don't want to get into that, grab a TP link smart managed switch ($27 ish on amazon for 8 port one) or the netgear equivalent for about the same price, both let you do it via the GUI and offer a lot more features. Just plug that into any LAN port on the Asus, leave both ends of that uplink set at auto (gig will negotiate fine on that) then you plug all your devices into the external switch and you can control each port, speed, duplex, flow control etc.

Hi

Ive got the Asus RT-AC88U router.

In the Network Map page where it shows all the Ethernet Ports and the Status, ie either unplugged, 1Gbps,100Mbps etc, how is the connection speed determined? Is it auto or can it be set manually?

I have a NAS connected using 2 ethernet ports but one is connected at 1Gbps ans the other at 100Mbps. Only difference I can think of is the cable or settings
