I'm in the middle of a row with my wife now because of this. She told me not to put anything on the data stick and open the ports. Almighty row when she saw it. Dog house for me for god knows how long now.

It only happens on April 1st. It will return to normal tomorrow (glue will have cooled off or something to that effect)

Might depend on your browser. With a browser that fully supports CSS3, you can see the header slowly falling down, mimicking the effect of glue melting down and the header falling on one side. Looks funnier than if it just appears dropped on its side, which is what will show up on Internet Explorer (unless running it in IE11 native mode).

I started drinking beer to generate enough biological cooling fluid to insert into the router by way of a readily available pipe with a small bore hole.

Cooled the router a treat...where's the internet gone?

He has the illegal access issue and I have the top banner falling. I've been freaking out for the last couple of hours trying to fix my problem (see the attachment) and now I can't even connect to the internet unless it's my banking sites.



EDIT - I've fixed the issues for now by downloading and installing the OEM firmware plus changing my PW to something that even I can't really remember. Given the issues I've had lately, IF this is an April Fool's joke, it's really not funny

sorry to comment on a thread that isnt effecting me but i am very confused about this. how the hell does glue on the router have to do with the GUI crashing? im so lost lol

Again, the banner trick is strictly done through CSS, in your browser. There is zero line of code changes on the router in relation to this, so it's flat out impossible that it might be related to your other issues.

How? I don't see it.

The date check is done in the state.js Javascript file at the moment it generates the main webui layout (like 400 here: https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/blob/master/release/src/router/www/state.js)

If the date is April 1st, then the banner gets assigned the "banner41" ID instead of the regular "banner" ID, which will apply a different CSS to it.

The gradual fall and glow change is entirely done by CSS.

The glue is what holds the banner at the top of the page. Cheap glue, so the header starts falling off.

Ok i am using merlin 40 alpha 4 so i guess i didnt get April fooled.
