Printing over VPN

Has anyone managed to print over VPN to a USB printer??

Scenario: want to be able to print to a a usb printer in a remote location without buying a separate print server/running a pc etc.
For ex: Using an AC51U

Is the USB printer connected to the VPN gateway device?

I don't know, I don't have an ac51u.

Have you tried it?

I did tried to print using wifi printer at home using VPN. And it works. Printer is not accessible otherwise.
I can't see any reason why it won't work on a printer connected to the router. Just try it.
