Problem on network maybe related to RT-AC87 router.

The problem I have is described in this thread:

It might be related to the Merlin firmware I have on my RT-AC87, but I'm not sure.

Can I just flash an official Asus firmware, clear nvram and reset to factory defaults?

What is the correct procedure?

Flash and "reset to factory defaults" should be enough, and reconfig.
Clear nvram if router act weird after that
