I have a Samba share enabled on my 86U (been there for years). Oddly a few days ago my logs complained - ":build_sam_account: smbpasswd database is corrupt!". Is there a way to rebuild (or delete and replace) this file? Thanks

Common problem:

I deleted /etc/samba/smbpasswd and recreated it. So far, no more log entries. Is there a way to delete a particular account (user)? I cannot edit the account nor add a password to it so I want to delete and re-add...

/etc/samba/smbpasswd is a temporary file that is regenerated every time the router boots or a USB device is plugged in.

Did you read the post I linked to?

I did see your original post. I was able to correct my problem using your instructions - now all is well. As always, thanks for your excellent care!
