problem with Asus Rt-68u and xbox one streaming to pc (rmerlin?)

ben myers

New Around Here
I have the asus rt-68u and an xbox one connected via LAN. I'm streaming to 2 pcs, one, an asus g751 (a baller machine) and one is an SP4. The both are connected via 5ghz and both stream identical. However, i run into a problem with everything streaming fine for about 2 minutes....then stuttering for about 10 seconds, followed by 1 second of 'catching up' (everything fast forwards) and then back to normal. Anyone have a clue what to do? RMERLIN? can you chime in? (I'm currently running your latest stable release, which has improved this problem slightly, but very firmware version, asus or rmerlin (haven't tried the latest beta 2 though) does the same thing. (i always reset the modem after a firmware update)

well, i bought a rt-88u and tried the same. upgraded to the lastest firmware, and STILL have the same lag. I just don't get it. PLEASE, anyone have any clue or tips? I'll try anything at this point!

If you tried a new router, new firmware (did you do a minimal and manual configuration after resetting to factory defaults?) and the issue persists, it is your devices, no?

What settings can you change on them that might make this issue go away?

you think it would be my xbox one/surface pro 4/ asus g751jy? (the effect is the same on both laptops

It is certainly that combination.

Is there a certain software you need to use to be able to stream? Does a single wireless device have any issues? Are the wireless devices in line (or close to) each other from the router's perspective?

Are they both streaming the same file? Does streaming different files work without issues?

thanks, but what your saying isn't really relevant. This is basically mirroring my xbox tv signal to my laptop screen (look up the feature).

Okay, don't answer simple questions that may help others track down the issue for you.

Hope you can find the fix.

I didn't mean to offend. I appreciate the help. but I don't think you know what i mean by xbox one streaming to pc. Check this link out: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-on-windows/gaming-on-windows/how-to-use-game-streaming

this is what i am doing, but have alot of lag doing so...

No offense taken.

But this is obviously beyond my experience and while the link you included may help someone else pinpoint a solution for you; to me, it's just a rabbit hole to get lost in. :)

The questions I've asked (at least the applicable ones) may still be valuable to helping you (if answered).

Sorry I cannot be of more direct assistance at this time.
