Problem with some devices

Hello, I bought this router and since I bought it, it is a connection problem with some devices. I have a macbook, iphone and ipad in my house. Apple products connected smoothly. Already my my LG TV connected on the network but not the internet. I had to put a fixed ip on dhcp to get it.

Some friends came home yesterday, and no managed to connect to my router. HP notebook and others

What can be the problem? I've tried various settings and have restored factory settings several times.

I bought the router because it was voted one of the year's best, but I could not enjoy it.

Thank you,
Caio Silva.

What connection wired or wireless ? What wireless band 2.4 or 5 GHz ?
Have you checked the security defined on the router compared to the devices settings ?
You should have looked at various forums eg. smallnetbuilder to see how people actually like this product instead of "one of the year's best" products - that sounds like what Asus put on the outside of the router box.....
If you are ucky everything works directly on the first setup but then you can just have a setup which has to be tuned regarding the settings on the router.
For instance check the firmware that the unit was delivered with , perhaps anupdate can help you ?i

Wireless mode. Already tested on two frequencies and nothing worked. Tested with firewall on and off. With multiple configurations. Already reseted several times. It is the latest version.

Only worked when I put a fixed ip on dhcp settings.

Have you tested running inSSIDer on a Windows pc to see how the frequencies around you are ?
Have you put on fixed channels on the wireless bands ?
Is this Asus firmware or Merlins ?

I'm using merlin now but the problem remains with both. I tested with another router and everything worked. At the moment I don't have windows pc to test. Yes, already tested with fixed channels.

EDIT: I put a fixed band and channel. At the moment I can't test, I test soon and I'll post the result here. Thanks for the help.

What you mean for fixed ip on the dhcp ?
Post your DHCP setting, another question is :
your friend pc get connect to the WIFI but don't get the IP ?

I have a mix of Apple and W7 pc and I have no problem, so it must be some wrong setting on the router if DHCP is enable it will take care of all the IP no need to manually assign, unless the DHCP is off.

Now this problem happens with my iPhone.
My friend have an ip on connect but not access to the internet, network only.

DCHP Settings (I had to put an ip manually to the iPhone connect to internet):

I'm getting the same trouble. The lease has not expired yet on the device, but dns lookup isn't working and it looks like your still connected.

This happens on my PS3 connected to a repeater connected to my media bridge and on my laptop, iPad's and iPhones connected to the same media bridge.

I'm using a repeater too on the second floor (to my parents) with the same settings (ssid, password, etc).

Something strange happened last night. Suddenly my media bridge got a 192.168. address instead of the usual 10.0. address. The reason why was because the Netgear WN2000RPT had given it a address when it couldn't get an ip address from the router on the other side of the media bridge. Had to reboot it again. So I don't trust the Netgear repeater firmware and would have loved putting a different firmware on it.

someone can help me?

I wish i could help i have this router and running Merlin 3.0.0.4.372.31, and have a bunch of macs, iPads, iPhones and a hardwired Vizio tv connected.
And they all work perfectly.

What version of the firmware do you have?

If you have the current version (3.0.0.4.372.31) when you installed it did you reset the router to factory defaults?

I'm using the 3.0.0.4.372.31 too. Already reseted the settings on both routers and have tested various configurations and nothing....

How did you reset the settings?

Also you didn't load a saved configuration from the router web configuration page did you? if you do that the resetting to factory settings is undone.

I reset the factory settings on both routers and configured manually each.

When I used the ASUS with the Repeater's not configured, the problem had been solved. However, when activated the repeater, the problem returned. It seems that there is an interference between both.
