Hi!

I recently updated my network to 384.15. I have the main router, RT-AC86U, an access point, RT-AC68U, and an RT-AC66U_B1 that I have been using successfully as a repeater for a year or so. Ever since the upgrade I have been unable to use the RT-AC66U_B1. I have reset it several times, added it as a repeater both automatically and manually, and after some time on the network, I stop being able to log in to the web GUI, or access the internet when connected to the repeater (although the repeater does connect to the router). When I check the network map on the main router, I can see that a second IP address has been assigned to the repeater: the regular address is 192.168.1.72; a second address, also assigned to the repeater (but a different mac address?), is 192.168.1.71.

Not sure what is going on, but especially now it's important for us to have internet, with everybody working at home. All help would be appreciated. Has anyone ever seen this happen? Should I downgrade my firmware? Thank you!

I've had a similar problem using an AC56U and an N66 as a media bridge with an AC87U on 13_4 (I tried 13_2 and 12 as well). They would connect, but the devices connected to the bridge would lose their IP address after a few hours and then no traffic would flow. I tried the AC56U with John's fork, same problem. I switched the 56U to Tomato and the problems went away.

Hi! Thank you. I just rebooted the main router, and the "ghost" IP is gone, for now. Hopefully it won't come back.

Sounds like you are a prime candidate to use AiMesh instead of making the AC66U_B1 and AC68U repeaters. Very easy to do (I have done this with my AC86U and AC66U_B1). Use the web gui or the Asus phone app.
