I work from home managing 120 Macs across the country. To connect to my companies network I have a Sophos RED VPN device. My work Mac is connected directly to the RED and the RED is connected to the RT-AX86U.
I use Apple Remote Desktop to remote into the Macs. Every now and then I lose all ARD connections despite the Sophos RED being on line and all other traffic is moving over the Sophos as usual. If I reboot the ASUS I get ARD back. I can't figure out why ARD is failing since it is inside the VPN tunnel before it ever gets to the ASUS, and how come rebooting the ASUS fixes it. If ARD is in the tunnel then the ASUS should not be filtering or manipulating the ARD connections.
