I play a lot of high ranked Madden games in my freetime. One thing I run into is other players "Dos"ing me. Is there anything I can do to prevent a single user from using a booter to knock me offline?

The main way to prevent your self being booted off is bandwidth

People used to try booting mysef and team mates off on black ops2 all the time
my friends would get booted in order of theyr internet connection
and i would be the only person left in the game on my side

I have 80mbit down 20mbit up and it takes around 300mbit of bandwidth to boot me off for a short period

most of these kiddies dont have a booter capable of that

i have only been booted once in the last two years
where as my team mates have been booted a good few hundred times

Does the DOS protection on the 87R protect from petty booter attacks?

I find dos protection on routers tends to block legitimate packets
so keep it disabled

You should ensure that you are wired

as lets say you ps3/ps4 is connected to psn on port 3076 via wifi
if port 3076 gets flooded all of that will be transmitted via wifi
and the link will get saturated very easily

so while your connection may well be 105 down and 25 up
it may take less than 5mbit to interupt the wifi link and hence boot you out of the game

I'm currently hardwired - however - they're are IP stressor websites that let you transmit 300 mb of info. Does the Dos protection feature actually work against such attacks?

Had to do some research here - sounds like the booter scripts/apps basically flood your WAN IP address with TCP or UDP packets - so the challenge here is to be able to change your IP.

If you're working with X-Box Live, reaching out to MSFT is a legitimate approach, as the user can get the ban-hammer there, otherwise reach out to EASports directly and work the issue if you have again a player account that is griefing you in a big way.

The other option - find a VPN service that randomizes the IP's - the challenge with VPN is that it will add latency/lag/ping time compared to have a direct connection in on your WAN address.
