QoS - Bandwidth Limiter help

rizzo777

New Around Here
Hello,

I play NHL online on my xbox and need help with getting the best speeds for my system. I have 2 other Xbox's in the house my kids play on. The xbox that I use is hard wired into my router, the other 2 use wireless. I currently have an AC1900P router. Is it best to use the bandwidth limiter functionality to limit their speeds so my bandwidth isn't eaten up, or should I use adaptive QoS and set it for games? If I use adaptive QoS, I would have to prioritize my system.. Does this router allow me to choose which device I would like prioritized rather than just setting it for "Games?

Thanks.

I am not sure which you should use, but you will need to be mindful which firmware you have on your router. ASUS broke the bandwidth limiter back in the fall and it hasn't worked in any release since then. The last one it worked in was 380_3941.

Or you could load the Merlin firmware and well everything will work.
