R6300v2 and push notifications

gforce1963

New Around Here
My problem is that with the R6300v2 router, I am not getting any of the push notifications of movement or when someone rings my Ring video doorbell when connected to WiFi on my android phones. And when I think about it, most of the notifications that would come in on my phone for other apps I do not get. I have an SBG6900-AC cable modem that I'm using in bridged mode. I have done everything the ring support site has recommended.

Ring troubleshooting

...open ports, clear cache in app. And I will get notifications when the phones are connected to cellular data. BUT the weird thing is when I replaced the R6300v2 with an older WNR3500L, it works. I will get the push notifications when connected to wifi. The only thing that has been done to either router is set a new range for IP Addresses. Even Ring tech support has not seen this before. I might be wrong with this one, but could something have changed with how the firewall works between the older WNR3500 and the newer R6300v2 that is blocking push notifications? Is anyone else seeing issues with not getting, or delayed notifications while connected through wifi regardless of the router model? I know there are other sites suggesting it is a Android problem with heartbeat interval, but if it was a problem with the phone, I would think I wouldn't get notices no matter the router. But since they come through on the older router, that is where I'm troubleshooting first.
