[R6400] Custom firmwares and features support

Hi!

I would like to know if custom firmwares like advanced tomato has all the features and wireless speed of the original netgear's firmware. Can anyone help me?
I've read in the Internet that only dd-wrt kong was "ok" in AC mode, is this true? I used DD-WRT some years ago on a WRT54G v3 and I don't like this firmware (well, it was slugish and clumsy... but it was an older router anyways).
