R8500 Firmware Version V1.0.2.30_1.0.43

I see as as an available update from the router GUI but not on the web site. Any release notes?

Apparently V1.0.2.30 is only for World Wide units and not North American region.

Whats the difference? Asus sometimes releases worldwide first then same firmware to US at a later time.
My guess is to see if there are bugs.

Yes US based. Strange it was offered as an update via the router GUI..

Yes I updated. Was on the beta before which had MU-MIMO enabled. Only thing I see is MU-MIMO is not in this new firmware. Seems stable so far.

Very weird, I have checked several times and always says no update.

The R8500 has 2 housing styles, ie., one is a "wavy top" housing for USA, Canada and China and models and the other is a "flat top" housing for all other country models such as European.

The only difference in the V1.0.2.30 FW is the R8500 graphic depicting a "flat top" housing.

I understand the FW has been removed for now.

Just compared v1.0.2.30 with an older version.

The original picture for example at "Advanced => Advanced Setup => Wireless AP", shows the R8500 with a wavy top. Once updated to v1.0.2.30, the picture has changed to a flat top which follows the correct housing design for European R8500 SKU's
