To expand on the title, I picked up some random packets while running tcpdump for my wl0 2.4ghz interface.

These packets seem to refer to other wireless devices inferred from the packet data. No IPs or any identifiers, just my router’s MAC addr in each packet header. Is this just random AP radio chatter on the same channel getting caught? Or should I not be picking up anything else except my own devices.

Ethertype 0x886c is used by Broadcom's Wi-Fi SoC to notify the host operating system of various Wi-Fi events, e.g. the results of channel scans.
