Requests for device support

Sorry new to the forum, I did a search for my device and found nothing. Was wondering if we are able to request support for a specific model router ? I have looked around and my router is not supposrted currently on tomato , ddwrt or openwrt unfortunately. I have a asus RT-N12E is it possible to compile merlin for this model ?

It won't be supported because it's based on a Realtek processor not a Broadcom. (It's also too old and doesn't have enough memory)

Thanks for the response Colin, I guess I should doo propper research and purchase a decent router next time.
