Review request/anyone have experience with this router? RT-AC1200

I'm interested in this mostly as a distant AP for people looking to add a second AP either via ethernet cable or PLC.

The lack of gig ports seem to make it not worthwhile for a main router in a lot of situations but for an extended access point it seems to fit the bill very nicely on paper.

here's along the lines of what I was thinking:

r7500 = $198
AV1200 tp-link $59
RTAC1200 - $54

=$315 before tax for 2 AP household (if the powerline worked well enough)

or a more budget and realistic setup of:
archer c8 = $129
AV1200 $59
RTAC1200 = $54

around $240 for a 2 AP setup

There is also a brandnew Asus RT-AC1200G+ with gig ports, single core 800 MHz CPU, no USB 3.0.
