Router launches web browser when there's connectivity issue

Since I've had my AC68U, I've noticed that whenever there's a connectivity issue, a web browser gets launched on my PCs detailing the problem.

My old router didn't do this and it's extremely annoying on a HTPC when it happens in the middle of a movie etc.

Is there any way to disable this behaviour?

Search the threads. Your router is probably rebooting. If you read the threads on AC68, you'll see that there is a bug that causes it to reboot. Use the firmware from Merlin that works around issue.

Yeah, but there must be a way to disable the HTML error page from popping up when the router has a problem. We don't live in a perfect world where everything has 100% uptime and like I said, on a HTPC, I don't want a web browser popping up in the middle of a movie just because my ISP had a dropout. It's embarrassing.

I notice this with my AC56U....when i reboot router..or loose internet connectivity ..chrome auto launches and shows the Asus error page.

It only does this on my Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials system though.....rest of my systems are win 8.1 (and one win7) and those do not exhibit this behavior.
