RT-BE86U Ethernet issue?

Squiggles

New Around Here
Howdy.
I've got an RT-BE86U that I used to replace my ageing and failling RT-AC68U.

It works pretty much flawlessly for my usage. Pretty much....

I have a strange issue where, when I reboot the router, it appears that it hasn't come up.... Except it has.

The router is connected to my modem via the 2.5G LAN port, a seperate LAN port connects it to my Netgear GS108 switch.

When I reboot, I can't connect to the router or the interner from my PC connected to the Netgear switch via cable. So I think it's down, but a wireless device can connect, access the router and net. That's very odd.

Power cycling the switch restores wired connectivity to the router. (I've just thought I havent tried just unplugging and re-plugging in the LAN cable on the router to see if that brings it back but still....)

Anybody else noticed any weirdness? As I said, it works pretty much flawlessly, it only occurs when I reboot the router which gets a tad annoying :)

Thanks!

Is the port on the GS108 going to sleep (energy saving ethernet) ?
Look at the lights on the port that the PC is plugged into. Should be one on the left and right of the port. What color is each if they are on when this happens ?

Could also be a wonky cable/receptacle. Have you tried other ports on the switch and other known good cables ?

The port connected to the PC is staying in gigabit mode, same with other ports and the cable is good, too.....
Is this port designated as a WAN port in the settings?
The port that the modem connected to is a WAN port, the switch is connected to a port with no WAN functionality. I've used the 2.5Gb LAN/WAN port on the router to connect to my modem so that I can keep the 10Gb port free for future use.

I have a similar issue with port 4 feeding a dlink gig switch that connects to a tv, dvr, blu-ray and amp... every time I reboot I lose connection to the switch... a quick unplug then plug back in resolves it every time, but it is annoying...

Our RT-BE86U uses the 10,0 GB port for WAN (goes to fibreoptic converter) and in LAN-port 2 is connected an uncontrolled 24-port gigabit switch. All house wired connections go the through the switch, even NAS.
Haven't had any of these issues discussed here...
