RP-N12 frequent disconnect

I've bought an RP-N12 range extender so I would get a better wifi signal where my main router couldn't reach properly.

The problem is that I have to reboot the damn thing almost everyday! So far the only firmware available for it is the first version of it currently available on asus website (1.0.1.0g).

Settings are has follow :

Repeater Mode
Same SSID as main router 2.4ghz
Channel Bandwith 20mhz
Roaming assistant disabled ( I haven't found that it changes much )
Static IP Address
DHCP server on

I can telnet to it to change nvram values but I'm no wizard like Merlin or some of you on this awesome forum.

Anyone can help??

While repeaters are always problematic try turning off the DHCP function on the repeater. Your router should be handling the assignment of LAN IPs. Having two DHCP servers on a network is generally a no no.

I've disabled the DHCP server on the repeater and gave it a static ip outside the DHCP ip range. Let's see what happens !
