RT-AC66U: AP Mode - should I use Merlin or stay with stock?

For an RT-AC66U that will be used in AP Mode only (with the WAN port assigned to LAN), behind another wired router - should I put Merlin on it or just stay with stock?

Does Merlin fix any issues or improve wifi performance in any way when used in AP Mode?

Repeater mode is 100% unchanged from Asus.

Thank you for the link. It helps, but I plan on using plain AP Mode, not repeater mode.

By using Merlin's firmware you get a few additional features in the AP mode.

The two additional features that I am aware of are:

1. You get three guest networks on each band vs two on stock.

2. The wireless survey feature is available on Merlin's and not on stock.
