RT-AC66U slow 5Ghz with new FW

As the topic states, with the last 3 or so firmware updates from ASUS, my 5Ghz wifi speed goes down to crawl. Does not happen with Merlins good stuff, but I'd still like to know why?

Also, the web interface is extremely slow when I access it through my browser. I can get stuck loading forever. Windows 8.1, could this be of any trouble?

You would have to ask Merlin, because he uses different wifi drivers in his builds compared to OEM firmwares. Even though he has no control over wifi drivers them selfs.

Is web interface slow with oem firmware? Merlin has tweak webui in his firmwares. Then down the road, asus implements those tweaks in their oem firmwares.

Ok, I'll ask Merlin about the slow 5Ghz wifi.

The slow web interface happens with all firmwares and routers I've tried with Win8.1...

Also, the web interface is only slow when I try to access by cable. With wifi, it's perfectly fine...

Confirmed that ESET v7 was the culprit for the slow UI... fixed by creating an exception rule in the program settings. :-)
