RT-AC68 + PCE-AC68 performance degradation over time.

I have an RT-AC68 (3.0.0.4.374.542) and two machines with PCE-AC68 (2.0.7.1) adapters.

Both claim to be connected at 877 Mbit/s.
But the actual wireless performance degrades after the router has been running for a day or two.
After a router reboot i can transfer files from a windiows share at about 30-40 MB/s... but after a day or so the performance degrades to a maximum of 5 MB/s... The network adapters both still claim to be connected at 877 Mbit/s and reboting my pc's does nothing.
But as soon as i reboot the router the problem is fixed for another day.

And yes.. i have tested with 3.0.0.4.374.583 but it does not fix anything and breaks the 2.4 ghz performance for my xbox.

I've noticed the same thing with the past several firmware revisions, but not quite as bad as you (my degradation is more like from ~27MB/s to ~20). I've found that changing a setting or restarting the 5ghz radio is enough to bring it back up to speed for a while, no need to restart the whole router.

I think the issue is that Asus is getting terrible wireless drivers from Broadcom, and the adapter and router both have to use them. I think the ones in the latest Asus driver for the PCE-AC68 are from around the time the 374.433 beta was out. So it's just a waiting game for them to resolve the issue and put out a good set of drivers and firmware for the adapter and router.

I have observed degradation as well on most firmwares between ac68 router and ac68 media bridge.

The degradation seems to be a less if i disable nat acceleration.
But i have not had time to do actual measurments for that scenario.

I have the exact same problem. It drives me crazy. I have tried the netgear R7000 and switch to AC68U because of that problem. BUT now it comes back again.

I use intel 7260, the file transfer speed under windows 7 can reach 27MB/S, but after a while, it goes to 18MB/S, which is not enough for blueray stream.
and after I turn off the reducing USB 3.0 interference, The wifi connection becomes very unstable, and I can only get 12MB/S.:(

Does the AC56U has the same problem because I want to change to that. Please anyone help me...
