Rt-Ac68r- Best Hdd format?

Was wondering what is the best format for a 1Tb WD-My Book W/ USB 3.0 & a 1.5TB My Passport W/ USB 3.0? Both r connected to my Ac68R with the passport connected to the 3.0 USB port on the router. Firmware is V. 4561. Thanks in advance!

I would say either ext3/ext4 should give you the best performance etc.

Performance wise EXT2 is faster then both EXT3/4 because there is no Journaling.

EXT2 should be used for usb flash drives, they are slow enough as is and EXT3 for hard drives. Lots of people have problems with EXT4, I personally would avoid that unless you require a specific feature which it offers. I am assuming the drives will be dedicated to the router but if you ever want to plug the drives in a Windows computer to transfer stuff and not have to screw around, go with FAT32.

Yes dedicated, and utilize download master as much as possible. What is the largest HDD possible to be used with the ac68r atm? 4TB? Also my Panasonic Viera ET5 55" 3d Led television has issues all the time with DLNA a and only sometimes can see dlna server, but my phones & tablets can always see & use the HDD'S via aicloud. It's connected to the 5Ghz wirelessly and it's only about 20' Away from my router +3 very thin walls. Thanks in advance!
