I wonder if this router could have 2 usb hard drives attached at the same time. I know only one is usb 3.0, but I'm willing to accept usb 2.0 speed if one extra drive could be attached.

Yes.

Long story of the "Yes": The RT-AC68U router has one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 port (the blue one!), which can run the speed they are designed for.
I have two USB drive connected and one is an USB 2.0 thumb drive and the other one is an USB 3.0 hard drive.

But do not expect "lightning speed" from the USB 3.0 port (as you would see on the PC): The poor ARM CPU is to slow to run USB 3.0 at full speed (and the hard drive might also be slower then the port can manage). :eek:

Sorry for "abusing" this thread.
@joegreat
which USB3.0 hard drive can you suggest in combination with the usb3.0-port of the AC68U. I've tried two different USB3.0 enclousers with SSD's inside and both froze the router. Only the reduction of the speed to USB2.0 could solve this problem (I know it's a typical problem for the AC68U)
Therefore I'm searching for a stable external USB3.0-drive.

Thanks in advance
Huberer
