New Around Here
Hello, I am having loads of problems using my 68u router (latest default firmware, 3.0.0.4.378_8258).
I am trying to play a game where there are problems if players in the same group have the same IP (bad code, though not patched so) and also trying to use a shared USB device connected to the router(external HDD).
As the 68U is bad at distributing external IPs by using Access Point mode, causing unstable and lagging internet connection and also disconnects some of the users from accessing the USB device connected, I am looking for an alternative way to allow for computers connected to the router (through cable or wifi), to be granted an external IP and an internal IP for each connected user (ISP has granted IPs for as many people as we want).
I've been having issues using the AC68U for ages now, at first I thought it was the modem, but after going between various settings it seems it is the router having the problems and not the modem.
* DMZ doesn't provide a second IP address for one computer, and doesn't even seem to be working because the team speak server hosted behind the computer exposed is not accessible.
NOTES:
While in AP Mode, the router lists over 200 devices. Presumably these are people on the same DNS, I assume this is wasting resources on the router. Doubt AP mode is supposed to do that. Some devices listed were in the US, while some were in Sweden, etc.
~ Have a good one.
