RT-AC68U - works fine but Device Discovery fails??

My new RT-AC68U seems to work fine - updates to the latest firmware 306 this morning. Access to the webGUI via my wired connection absolutey fine.

But looking to add a printer via USB the EZPrinter wizard failed to find the router and when I tried the Device Discovery utility it didn't find the router either.

I've tried disabling my anti-virus programme, rebooted the computer and the router but still these utilities don't seem to be able to find the router.

This has completely baffled me. Can anybody please help me with this as I do want to use the network printing feature.

Thank you.

I have the same issue. It led me to these forums and may yet lead me to RMA the router. I'd love to know what's going on so I can connect my wireless printer/scanner.

Hi Ehume, I spent all evening yesterday trying to figure it out.

The problem seemed to be that the Asus utilities were being "blocked" from seeing the router. So I tried turning off Firewalls, pausing Kaspersky and Winbdows Defender - still nothing.

Eventually I tried unistalling Kapsersky and turning off Windows Firewall and Windows Defender.

Both the Asus Device Discovery and the Printwe Utility found the router in a mater of 2/3 seconds. I'm fine now - and I've written to Kaspersky asking them if there's a way of allowing these Utilities to work without going through the hassle of uninstalling their porduct.

So if you're using a third party Firewall or Anti-Virus software I'd try uninstalling them, running the printer utility and then reinstalling them.

Hope it works for you.
