RT-AC87U does not support 5GHz repeater!

I bought the new RT-AC87U last week as a 5GHz repeater for my existing RT-AC68U. To my annoyance, I find out that this Repeater mode is not supported on the RT-AC87U. Does anyone know is Asus is going to support this like they do on the RT-AC68U?

what firmware and version are you using on RT-AC87U and RT-AC68U? I got a similar problem on my RT-AC68U using Merlin firmware.

Firmware 376.47 and Asus's Repeater Function

Hi,

I'm running firmware 3.0.0.4.376.47_0 on the RT-AC87U and the RT-AC68U.

If fact, you will not find the Repeater option on the RT-AC87U's User Interface (it's been disabled in the source code). I took another peek at the source code, and I found that 5GHz support isn't implemented: it's on Asus's to-do-list!
