RT-AC87U file transfer problem

I’ve recently put my cable router into modem mode and reinstalled my rt-ac 87u, with two external hdds attached, and using my MacBook, internet and WiFi is ok, but I can’t access any files using finder on my MacBook, I can see toot folders, but nothing else’s anyone any ideas pls ?

I'm not a Mac guy so I'm not sure what network protocol the Finder uses, I thought it was SMB.

How have you configured the router's USB/Samba sharing options?

What firmware version are you running?

Thanks for your reply Colin, it’s the latest firmware, not sure what to do with the USB/Samba options, I’m a beginner, but it’s something I’d like to gain experience on.

Just follow the instructions on the router's Samba pages, in the manual or on the Asus website.
